First Humans Traversing the Wormhole

After a series of test jumps with subsequently improved probes a jump ship could now be constructed, allowing humans the traversal of the wormhole. A brave team of qualified scientists, experienced navigators and daredevil pilots proclaimed itself ready to take the chance of jumping into the singularity. Unfortunately the expedition team did not make it back — but their discoveries survived: The singularity seems to be an ever-changing system of planets continually appearing and disappearing. File 1; New Material Found: On the planets we managed to find some kind of unknown materials. First tests revealed their extraordinary power when we nearly blew up the whole ship. Better to test them in a closed off, safe environment at Carl Sagan’s. Maybe these materials – we call them “Quarcs” – could be used as fuel for the ships that bring expeditions deeper into the singularity. File 2; Hostile Environment: Something in the singularity slowly eats away our hull, we have to get back very soon. Our expeditions won’t last long unless we find something that protects us properly. Our testing on Quarcs returned that their energy charge should be of perfect use as fuel. The kind of power output provided by Gravitons on the other hand seems ideal for shielding off against the energetic chaos. What is particularly astonishing is that the planets seem completely stable once they have emerged until they finally vanish. Still, however stable planets are once they appeared in the singularity, some solution has to be found for making an escape in time once they start disappearing. File 3; Unknown and Known Beings: To our surprise we encountered well-known beings on the planets: Somehow mantis made it here! At first glance it seems obvious that time-space might be off – maybe other anomalies did bring those aliens here....
