New version on the PTR.

We Improved the AI aggression system so it should work better than ever. Class based team play can now be controlled better and also be more entertaining.

Fortunately we found a bug in the agro system that has been in the game since the beginning. As most of the players know the agro did not really change when you were in the fight as a Team or Squad. Meaning if you were in a fight the mantis never really changed whom they did attack. Once they had something as target they were shooting it till it was dead no matter what else was attacking them.

This could especially be seen when attacking harvesters as their called down helping interceptors only did target the first one that got the agro from the harvester.

Now after the fix the agro will change depending on how much agro you make. This will also lead to help you to escort & assist NPC better as you can maybe snatch the agro from the mantis and be the target.

Also it has an impact of playing in teams or squads as now the mantis might change their target as someone generates more agro than their current target.

Some missions will change drastically (especially missions where you have to protect an NPC as you might get the agro easier), storm and engineer might not be the best team anymore as the storm might not be able to hold the agro and therefore the engineer might get to be the number one target for the mantis.

As this change has a bigger impact we figured it should be tested longer than normal therefore we already made a version now for public testing on the PTR.

The 2 PTR servers are again combined and have the current states of Korell and Askone on them.

Please test it to find bugs to report. Also give us feedback if the fixed agro system might be a problem in some situations and also let us know if you like it or not.

We estimate this fix will make tank and shock ships more interesting (as they were meant to be) for players as they have some good agro generating skills. You might also be able to play “agro ping-pong” with enemies now, which might also be fun and an interesting strategy.
