Game Update March 16, 2017

Between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM UTC+1, the game servers will shut down for a new game update to be deployed.

PvP Overhaul Part 1 – Update Changelog


NEW FEATURES

Landing protection
  • Introduced a means of protection for landing safely on a planet (other pilots cannot attack; not applied when landing near squad leader).
  • Using items or gravitons will end an active landing protection immediately.
  • Landing protection applies automatically when landing on a planet, runs for 30 seconds.




Colossus Relaunch (Battle Planet)
  • Implemented an automated battle planet schedule system which sets up battle events with different tech restrictions and starting times.
  • Added Cryonite rewards for participating players based on their ranking positions.
  • Updated scoreboard look and feel.
  • Changed Colossus battle score calculation; each kill is worth 10 points that are distributed between all pilots involved in the kill based on their effort.
  • In case of identical scores, the Colossus battle ranking now also takes into account the amount of spent attempts.

Sirius Conquest
  • Added Sirius wormhole Conquest zone, items and ship
  • Added ability to enter Sirius wormhole zone directly from the Draconis wormhole zone.
  • Log files can now be found in Sirius.

PVP Balance System
  • Introduced a system for balancing PVP combat over the full range of different item and ship levels.
  • Speed upgrades have no effect in PVP anymore.
  • This also applies to speed effects that come with certain armor alloys.

PVP Friend and Foe Rules
  • Technical improvements to the PVP relationship system (buddylist, clan, alliance, Pirate Mode, etc.) for better friend and foe detection in Conquest, on Colossus and when in Pirate Mode.

When is it possible to attack another player (PvP)?

Battle planet (Colossus):
  • Always allowed (except squad members)
Conquest planets:
  • Allowed if not in the same clan or alliance
Regular planets:
  • Both players must be in Pirate Mode
  • Not allowed if players are in the same squad
  • Not allowed if players are in the same clan or alliance
  • Not allowed if players are buddies

When is it possible to support another player?

Battle Planet (Colossus):
  • Allowed if players are in the same squad
Conquest planets:
  • Allowed if players are in the same clan or alliance
Regular planets:
  • Not allowed if one player is in a mission while the other is not in the same mission
  • Allowed when it is not possible for a player to attack another (see PvP)
    • Allowed when supporting player has Pirate Mode enabled while supported player has not
    • Not allowed when supported player has Pirate Mode enabled while supporting player has not



IMPROVEMENTS

Balancing
  • Introduced new system for balancing the ships in the game based on their role.
  • HP of all ships have been adjusted to match the new reference.
  • Ancient ships are now handled like regular system ships with proper HP.
  • Parsecs get a 20% HP bonus compared to regular ships.
  • Rare ships get a 25% HP bonus compared to regular ships.
  • Speed of all ships has been adjusted to match the new reference.
  • Speed Actuators have been adjusted to match the new reference.
  • Stuns have been adjusted to match the new reference.
  • Aim scramblers have been slightly weakened to match the new reference.
  • Speed buffs have been slightly weakened to match the new reference.
  • Increased strength of shield and protector items.
  • Increased hit points of aggrobeacons.
  • Item cooldowns and effect durations of all Ancient items have been adjusted to match the new reference.
  • Adjusted cooldown times for the following items: attack buffs, attack buff fields, perforators, speed actuators.
  • Adjusted cooldown time and effect duration of the following items: aim computers, taunts, resurrects, repair fields and attack droids.
  • Adjusted cooldown time, effect duration and strength of aim scramblers for increased variety.
  • Changed the following ship levels:
    • Vega ships
      • AnIn-X Colonial Jet level increased from 3 to 9
      • AnIn-1800 Rapid Tank level increased from 3 to 9
      • AnIn-X Colonial Lifter level increased from 3 to 8
      • AnIn-1450 Armored Transport level increased from 3 to 8
      • AnIn-1300 Light Transport level increased from 3 to 6
    • Ancient ship armor levels changed to:
      • Thermograde 77
      • Deluvian 79
      • Methanoid 82
    • Parsec ship armor levels changed to:
      • Sirius 76
      • Ancient 82
  • Changed the following item levels:
    • Sirius Ancient from 85 to 82

UI
  • Blueprint progress bar is not visible in shop any more once 100% progress are reached.
  • Improved feedback for empty shop categories.
  • Added feedback message for when trying to “Go to Jump Ship” in a Conquest ship.
  • Improved the look of the HUD's hit point and shield bars so they provide more accurate feedback.
  • Changed text description for the Citrine Graviton in order to better explain its effect.
  • Adjusted the names and added text descriptions for a number of Mizar Rares based on community feedback (thanks, guys!).
  • Changed the names of the following "Rapid" items to "Long" to better describe their behavior: Materializers, Aggrobeacons, Shields, Protectors, Repair Fields, Repair Field Turrets, Repair Targets, Attack Droids, Attack Field Turrets.
  • Changed the names of "Rapid" Taunts to "Strong" to better describe their behavior.

Other Improvements
  • Changed behavior of mines; they now remain in place where they are deployed and detonate on proximity. Also, mines are now cloaked.
  • Attack buff and repair field turrets can now be relocated (except on Colossus); scan once for switching to portable mode, and again to place the turret. Turret effects are disabled in portable mode.
  • Made a number of small stability improvements.
  • Added & adjusted ship alloy visualization on Mantis player ships.
  • Added Jump Ship LOD levels to improve rendering performance.


BUGFIXES

Balancing
  • Fixed incorrect Attack Field Turret HP.
  • Fixed incorrect Repair Field Turret HP.
  • Fixed incorrect Thermoblast cooldowns.
  • Fixed incorrect Taunt Values.
  • Fixed incorrect Materializer timings for some player ships.
  • Fixed incorrect Attack Droid HP.
  • Fixed incorrect Sirius Ancient item strengths (Strong items carried Fast/Quick/Long values and vice versa).
  • Fixed interchanged healing strength values of Long and Strong Repair Turrets.
  • Fixed effect duration of repair droids (~1 second increase).

Conquest
  • Fixed a bug that made adding new configurations available to Conquest ships.
  • Fixed an exploit that enabled clanless pilots to land on Conquest planets and generate War Score.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Conquest ships to have drone slots.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused Conquest ships to not appear.
  • Fixed a bug that enabled Conquest ship pilots to go to their Sirius Jump Ship.
  • Fixed a few issues related to leaving one’s clan while flying a Sirius Conquest ship.
  • Conquest ships are now removed properly after leaving the clan.
  • Fixed a bug that enabled pilots to log out on Conquest planets without any delay.
  • Fixed a rare bug that enabled the duplication of Conquest ships.
  • Fixed a bug that caused mines and attack droids to not attack opponents in Conquest when these pilots were in the attacker's buddy list.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the achievement for participating in Conquest to complete just by entering the orbit of a Conquest planet.

General PvP
  • Fixed a number of bugs that caused the following to not work in PvP: Pyrope Graviton, A110 Speed Drone, A112 Damage Amp Drone, Ifrit Cortex.

UI
  • Fixed a bug that caused the ship repair button to not reset properly after repair had failed due to insufficient energy.
  • Fixed a bug related to the alphabetical sorting of configurations in the hangar.
  • Fixed missing text for the energy category in the shop.
  • Fixed a small text issue that appeared when flying through the wormhole.
  • Fixed Conquest force packs starting with 0 instead of 1.

Missions
  • Fixed a bug that enabled squad members to circumvent the mission level restriction.
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent players from completing Lyris mission "Traitor Eradication”.

Other Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an exploit that allowed certain items to stay active permanently (e.g. Speed Actuator).
  • Fixed an exploit where changing the game’s language allowed an immediate logout.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause items to become unresponsive after switching between orbit and planet very often.
  • Fixed a wide range of issues related to Orbital Strikes.
  • Conquest ships now cannot cross the wormhole anymore.
  • Fixed a bug related to leaving the clan when in hangar.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause Jump Ships to not get removed properly.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to get damaged/killed in orbit.
  • Removed a duplicate entry in the Draconis PM mission achievements.
  • Fixed a number of issues related to the handling of ship repairs.
  • Fixed issues related to the use of Attack Charges with Attack Droids.
  • Fixed an issue with Shield and Protector items that enabled them to absorb too much damage of the shot that would deplete the shield.
  • Fixed a bug that caused shield and protector item cooldown times to be too short when the item's effect ended prematurely.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a ship's color pattern to show wrong colors in hangar after being killed during a Colossus battle.
  • Fixed visual exhaust offset on the Legionary ship.
